Meditations at the Lord’s Table Sought

A feature of the 2008 World Convention will be the launch of the bicentennial celebrating the 1809 publication of Thomas Campbell’s Declaration and Address. The Bicentennial Task Force is planning a special book to commemorate the event and issue a new call to Christian Unity. One feature of the book will be the inclusion of up to six communion meditations from non-US voices.  Others not chosen for inclusion in the volume may appear on the forthcoming www.greatcommunion.org website. Writers are invited to submit a communion meditation of 250-300 words, in English, under the theme “The Unity We Share at the Table.”  Scripture texts should be included but need not be part of the overall word count. Deadline for submission is June 1, 2007 and should be sent as an email or attachment to Clinton J. Holloway at milligan95@yahoo.com under the subject heading “Communion Meditation.”  Manuscripts may be sent to 5043 Briarwood Drive, Nashville, TN 37211 USA. We are particularly keen to have submissions from Africa, South America, Asia and Europe.

New Stone-Campbell Resources Available

Revelation’s Rhapsody: Listening to the Lyric of the Lamb…How to Read the Book of Revelation was recently issued by College Press by author Dr. Bob Lowery of Lincoln Christian Seminary, Lincoln, Illinois. The book’s goal is to help the reader delve deeper into the mystery of Revelation and discover a clear, easily understood message intended for Christians of every century. An online discussion of the book can be found at the author’s website http://rlowery.com and can be ordered for $21.99 at www.collegepress.com.

From the popular Chalice Press series “Your Calling As…” comes Timothy I. Carson’s Your Calling as a Christian. This volume explores many basic themes of faith in Christianity and ponders questions such as: How does one know God and truth? How is the Christian faith unique? Why should I care?” Carson explores these questions with the experience of 25 years of pastoral ministry under his belt. Order at www.cbp21.com

Are you changing addresses?  If you make a move or change email addresses please remember to let us know so that you have no interruption of World Christian or ChristiaNet. Also, we have recently discovered that internet mail providers such as yahoo and hotmail are routing our mails to “bulk mail boxes” and considering them as junk mail. We have no way of knowing who is or is not getting ChristiaNet. Ask your friends and ministry partners if they are getting updates from World Convention. If not, we’ll be glad to add them to the list. To make a change of address or have someone added to the mailing list please notify Julia Keith at worldconvjulia@aol.com
