Eleven: Eleven - Get Connected!

Set your watch to beep (or look for another way to remind you it is 11:11 am) and join our global prayer partnership!  World Convention is calling our whole global family to prayer each day in every time zone at 11.11 am.  At 11:11:
1. Thank God for what you have; pray for what you need.
2. Include any person around you in your prayer.
3. Be truthful if you are asked what is happening (an opportunity for witness).
4. Remember your global church family and that you are a loved and commissioned member of the whole church of Jesus Christ.
Prayer is powerful! Prayer knows no boundaries.  Let's be connected with our God and God in each other.  Read the full story in the third quarter issue of World Christian now in the mail.  (Request a copy from worldconv@aol.com).

Australia House opening at Khayelihle Children's Village in Zimbabwe
Australia House has added sixteen places (already 17 children have been accommodated!) at this special home for AIDS orphans in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.  This brings the total number of children being cared for to 40.  Six 'dumped' children (one Down's Syndrome; one bisexual) are amongst the new children being cared for.  The official opening of Australia House will be on October 11.  New Zealand House is the next to be built.  The General Secretaries of the World Convention are visiting KCV on September 23.  KCV is the World Christian Women's Fellowship project - send gifts to World CWF Attn: Adonna Bowman), PO Box 1986, Indianapolis, IN 46206-1986, USA.  (Of course, there are many other ministries of our churches caring for those affected by HIV/AIDS.  We are grateful for them all.)

Attendance at the National Missionary Convention
of the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ in the United States in Cincinnati, Ohio, November 20-23, is expected to be 5000-7000 according to Walter Birney the Convention Director.  450 exhibit spaces have been taken.  Speakers will include well known a cappella Churches of Christ author, Max Lucado.  (http://www.nationalmissionaryconvention.org)

Legal recognition
Five a cappella Churches of Christ in Croatia have worked with the Baptist Union to gain legal recognition in Croatia.  Legal status is granted only to groups with more than 30,000 members in Croatia.

Caribbean Christian Leaders' Clinic
This biennial Christian Churches/Churches of Christ event will be held in St Vincent, October 28-30.  Representation comes from countries such as Jamaica, Guyana, Antigua, Grenada and Barbados.  This year's theme: 'The Challenge of the Hour'.  See Leaders' Clinic page at ccyc.members.easyspace.com or contact this year's coordinator, Kenroy Clarke at kenroyc2002@yahoo.com

In the hills of Honduras
Toby and Amy Hill (and daughter Amy) live far up in the Merendon Mountains in Honduras.  They minister to the 'second most poverty stricken place in the world'.  They started with one barely functioning ruin of a church five years ago.  They now have three well attended churches and a fourth in its early stages.  They operate one regular and several travelling medical clinics.  The Word goes out to all corners!
