PRAYERS and PRAISES
February 11, 2012: Pacific Rim Ministries’ Darryl and Carol Krause report news of a major earthquake striking the Philippines early this week. As news filtered through to us during the day and later we learned that we have missed most of the destruction which hit many of the areas we have worked in during past years to the east and south of our island. Our islands had damage in some towns near us and in Iloilo City but other places were devastated with whole villages going under mud and dirt slides. The damage is still being assessed as anything happening away for the city often takes a long time to report. Please pray for those who were killed and made homeless.
June 14, 2011: Wednesday, June 15 there will be a meeting of ACTS (Action for Churches Together in Scotland) to decide the fate of Scottish Churches House in Dunblane. Special prayers are requested today for this unique ecumenical gathering place, with a medieval chapel on its grounds, used for courses and conferences by both lay and clerical bodies.
June 1, 2011: Please pray for the continuation of Scottish Churches House, a unique ecumenical conference centre in Dunblane, Scotland. It is in danger of being closed and the site sold.
May 22, 2011: Massive tornado passes through Joplin, Missouri. Prayers and relief donations are needed. Updates and ways to help can be found at www.ides.org
May 17, 2011: Natural disaster continues to affect community worldwide. April 30, 2011: Financial struggles are a reality. Pray for positive results in fundraising.
April 15, 2011: Thanks to technology, we receive email letters of blessing and thanks for God’s provision in connecting us with one another. Pray for the new, often small congregations who we now know as family.
