World Convention is currently building a global reference for the countries and territories where we know there are Christian – Churches of Christ – Disciples of Christ Congregations. Of the 193 United Nations States, the Stone-Campbell Movement exists in 174. This listing includes other nations and territories, numbering 194 countries where there is at least one representation of our churches.

The Lebanese Republic is bordered by Syria to the north and east and Israel/Palestine to the south. In recent years the country is still recovering from the Lebanese Civil War (1975–1990).
65% Muslim, 34% Christian. 30% of the population Sunni, 30% Shi’a, 18% Maronite, 6% Greek Orthodox, 4% Druze, and 4% Greek Catholic, with the remaining 6% belonging to smaller Christian denominations.
The Division of Overseas Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) partners with Haigazian University, National Evangelical Church of Beirut, and the Near East School of Theology in Lebanon.
Carl Matheny planted a Church of Christ in Lebanon in 1961, and a few years later Bob Douglas launched the Middle East Training College there. Other missionaries from Churches of Christ were there until 1974. It is not known if there are Churches of Christ there today.
