The Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal is located in the Himalayas and bordered to the north by the People’s Republic of China, and to the south, east, and west by the Republic of India.
Hinduism is practiced by about 81.3% of Nepalis, making it the country with the highest percentage of Hindus; Buddhism 9%, Islam 4.4%, Kirat 3.1%, Christianity 1.4%, and animism 0.4%.
The International Churches of Christ have churches in Katmandu and Pokhara.
The Division of Overseas Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) partners with Gandaki Boarding School, Nepal Council of Churches, and Shanti Nepal.
Central India Christian Mission has planted churches in Nepal.
Churches of Christ entered Nepal in the 1980s. Due to the efforts of local ministers like Krishna Gopal of the Kamal Pokhari Church of Christ in Kathmandu, there are about 80 congregations today. Eternal Threads is a ministry that partners with a local organization to assist in their efforts to prevent human trafficking by providing funding for two manned anti-trafficking border units that are able to rescue as many as 200 girls a month.
