Of the 193 United Nations States, the Stone-Campbell Movement exists in 174. This listing includes other nations and territories, numbering 195 countries where there is at least one representation of our churches.

Description

Qatar  borders with Saudi Arabia to the south, with the rest of its territory surrounded by the Persian Gulf. Qatar is a monarchy ruled by the Al Thani  family since the mid-19th century.

 

Religion

67.7% Muslim, 13.8% Christian, 13.8% Hindu, 3.1% Buddhist. The Christian population  is overwhelmingly foreign workers in Qatar. Christian groups include the Mar Thoma Church, Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, Copts, Anglicans, and Roman Catholics.

 

Stone-Campbell Presence

 

The International Churches of Christ planted the Desert Stream Christian Church (Qatar ICOC) in Doha in the year 2000.
