World Convention is currently building a global reference for the countries and territories where we know there are Christian – Churches of Christ – Disciples of Christ Congregations. Of the 193 United Nations States, the Stone-Campbell Movement exists in 165. This listing includes other nations and territories, numbering 184 countries where there is at least one representation of our churches.

The Syrian Arab Republic, is a country in Western Asia, bordering Lebanon and the Mediterranean Sea to the west, Turkey to the north, Iraq to the east, Jordan to the south and Israel to the southwest. Since March 2011, Syria has been embroiled in civil war between President Bashar al-Assad and several revolutionary groups.
President Bashar al-Assad’ is Alawite, a Muslim sect that dominates the government of Syria. Sunni Muslims are 60% of the population, Christians are 10% (most are Antiochian Orthodox).
The International Churches of Christ have a church at an undisclosed location in Syria.
